ABOUT US

The Schenectady Green Party has been in existence, on and off, since 2004 when we last ran candidates for public office. Most recently, a small core group of volunteers came together in September, 2014 to support the Howie Hawkins for Governor campaign to help turn out the vote. We were successful in securing over 4,000 votes for Howie's bid ensuring that he received 10% of the local votes cast for governor in 2014, an impressive accomplishment!

Since the Hawkins campaign, Schenectady Greens have held a series of meetings beginning in May, 2015 after undertaking a mailing to all 260 registered Green Party members in Schenectady County as well as the Hawkins campaign supporters mailing list. From these meetings, a group of five individuals have stepped up to run for local office in Schenectady County.
